조현화랑은 2026년 6월 11일부터 8월 9일까지 김홍석(金洪錫, 1935–1993)의 개인전 《실의 숨결 Where Threads Breathe》을 개최한다. 한국 현대미술사와 단색화의 흐름 속에서 다시 조명되어야 할 김홍석의 작품세계를 조현화랑에서 처음으로 선보이는 이번 전시는, <개폐> 연작과 <발아> 연작을 중심으로 캔버스와 실, 한지가 어우러져 만들어낸 그의 회화적 실험을 조망한다.

 

Johyun Gallery is pleased to present Where Threads Breathe, a solo exhibition of Kim Hong-Seuk from June 11 to August 9, 2026. Kim developed a distinctive visual language of his own, and this exhibition marks Johyun Gallery’s first presentation dedicated to revisiting his practice, which deserves renewed attention within the history of Korean contemporary art and the trajectory of Dansaekhwa. Centered on the Opening and Shutting and Germination series, the exhibition explores the artist’s painterly experiments created through the interplay of canvas, thread, and hanji paper.

 

나무와 돌이라는 자연 소재로 빚어낸 조형 위로, 조선시대 선비들의 절제와 겸양의 미학이 조용히 머문다. 40여 년간 아트 퍼니처의 새로운 지평을 열어온 최병훈이 조현화랑에서 개인전 《머무는 침묵 Lingering Silence》을 개최한다. 조현화랑_서울에서 6월 4일 – 8월 2일까지, 조현화랑_해운대에서 6월 11일 – 8월 9일까지 진행되는 이번 전시에는 장, 테이블을 포함한 〈afterimage of beginning〉 시리즈의 최근작들을 한자리에서 선보인다.

 

Above the sculptural forms shaped from the natural elements of wood and stone, the aesthetics of moderation and humility practiced by the scholars of the Joseon Dynasty quietly reside. Choi Byung Hoon, who has been pioneering new horizons in the field of art furniture for over forty years, is holding a solo exhibition titled Lingering Silence at Johyun Gallery. Running from June 4 to August 2 at Johyun Gallery Seoul, and from June 11 to August 2 at Johyun Gallery Haeundae, this exhibition brings together recent works from his series, including cabinets and tables.
