LEE BAE: ULTIMATE FORM
Lee Bae: Ultimate Form, the first global monograph dedicated to Korean contemporary artist Lee Bae, has just been published by Rizzoli New York this fall. Bringing together rich visual material and critical insight, the volume offers a comprehensive view of Lee Bae’s artistic practice and his ongoing exploration of charcoal as a medium in contemporary art.
Featuring the artist’s signature Brushstroke series alongside key works from more than three decades, the monograph traces the development of a practice that has continually moved across and beyond the boundaries of medium.
With more than 300 illustrations, including previously unpublished works and archival materials, Lee Bae: Ultimate Form brings together major projects and exhibitions presented across Asia, Europe, and North America. Edited by Rosa Maria Falvo, the volume also features newly commissioned essays by Geun-jun Michael Lim, Valentina Buzzi, Mark Rappolt, and Jin Joo Lee.

한국의 현대미술가 이배의 단행본 『Lee Bae: Ultimate Form』이 리졸리 뉴욕을 통해 전 세계에 처음 출간됩니다. 풍부한 도판과 학술적 깊이를 더한 이 책은 현대미술 영역에서 숯의 표현적 가능성을 새롭게 정의해 온 이배의 작품 세계를 종합적으로 조망합니다. 대표작인 '붓질(Brushstroke)' 시리즈를 비롯해 30년이 넘는 작업 여정을 아우르는 주요 작품들을 통해, 매체 간의 경계를 경쾌하게 허물어 온 예술적 실천의 진화를 보여줍니다. 미공개 작품 및 아카이브 자료를 포함하여 300점이 넘는 도판을 수록한 『Lee Bae: Ultimate Form』은 아시아, 유럽, 북미 전역에서 열린 주요 프로젝트와 전시를 기록 했습니다. 편집은 로자 마리아 팔보(Rosa Maria Falvo)가 맡았으며, 임근준, 발렌티나 부찌(Valentina Buzzi) , 마크 라폴트(Mark Rappolt), 이진주(Jin Joo Lee)가 새롭게 집필한 글이 수록되었습니다. 많은 관심 부탁드립니다.
